!Special Administration Console
The !Special Administration Console (!SAC) is separate from both the SAC
and Windows Server 2003 command-line utilities. You should use it when
the SAC is unavailable. !SAC contains a subset of the SAC command-line
options. Some of the available !SAC commands appear in Table 8.6.

Summary of Disaster Recovery
Options
Windows Server 2003 offers you several options for restoring data files and
troubleshooting server startup problems. You should create an ASR backup
set after you complete the installation and configuration of every Windows
Server 2003 computer. You should also create a new, updated ASR backup set
prior to making any major OS, hardware, service pack, or device driver
changes to the system. Make sure not to save the ASR backup file on the
same drive as the operating system, if you don't save the ASR backup to tape
or some other media besides a local disk. To fully leverage ASR, only store
operating-system files on the system drive volume (%systemdrive%).
Administrators and users can restore data using the shadow copies of shared
folders feature along with the Previous Versions Client software that you can
